📚 Christmas Reading Recommendations
Hello everyone! As Christmas is approaching I thought it would be a good idea for us to share our favourite festive reads with the broader community of Blue Bell Review. Listed below are some of my "let's get into the spirit of the season" favourites. If you have a book, song, movie, tv show, place, restaurant or food item that gets you into the Christmas spirit, you could write a review or a piece for the blog. With the help of some elves, reindeer, the Queen and a man called Charles Dickens, Father Christmas hunts for Amelia. Without her Christmas as we know it, maybe in jeopardy! A poignant reminder of the power of hope in this harsh world.
The Night I Met Father Christmas – Ben Miller
We all know the story. Every year Father Christmas loads his sleigh with toys, hitches up his reindeer, and delivers elf made toys to millions of children around the world. But how did Father Christmas become Father Christmas? Join Jackson and find out in this charming tale, that is a tribute to Dickens, and a splendid little message on its own. Let's celebrate the joy of giving!
The Gift Of The Magi – O Henry
A short story, by one of the most loved story tellers of our time, this is a classic tale about love, sacrifice and hope. It focuses on a young, poor couple who desperately want to buy each other a special Christmas gift, demonstrating that the value of a present lies in the giver's heart, not the price tag.
Santa and Sons – David Walliams
This book was recommended by my younger brother. A humorous tale, about a robbery in the most famous toy shop in the world. The shop's Santa and his son are locked inside with the baddies. Can the heroes stop them, using weapons as toys? Find out in this amazing book!

Oscar's Lonely Christmas – Holly Webb
Hannah is so excited! She is going to get a pet dog, and not just any dog. It's a Dalmatian, a cute spotted puppy named Oscar. Oscar loves his new family, but a school play keeping Hannah busy, and later an accident with her younger brother Zack, makes Oscar feel lonely. Not to mention nervous of all the relatives coming over for Christmas.
Winter Stories – Enid Blyton
A collection of humorous and fantastical tales featuring Blyton's famous characters like Brer Rabbit, Winter Stories is the best book to cosy up with when reading with a younger sibling or friend.
